Just a quick shot from last weekend’s Boudoir Marathon. In a word, it was awesome I had a fantastic time ladies, and I hope you did too.

The hour long boudoir session is $250+HST and includes professional hair and makeup and a private online gallery of images. Since this marathon is taking place in October (which is breast cancer month) $25 from each session will be donated to the Breast Cancer Society

Albums, prints and digital files are available a la carte.

*UPDATE* I have only one spot left in the marathon, a 2:00pm time slot, however I will open up a 5:00pm slot if need be.

“T” did this session “just because”, but I’m sure she had her new husband in mind too I think it’s great that she wanted to invest some time back into herself. I often think that we spend too much of our lives focusing on others (which is wonderful) but it’s just as important to let yourself relax and be pampered. Please enjoy a sampling of her session.

“T” Boudoir Session

One of the first questions I ask when someone calls or emails me for a session is, “Who is this for?” and “Is it a surprise?” It turns out that this was something that “T” and her husband had talked about for awhile but just couldn’t find the right photographer to take these intimate portraits. “T” was super excited and enthusiastic about her session and was forthcoming with her own ideas and visions of how she wanted to look. I totally loved that because she gave me a lot of insight about her personality which helped me plan her session according to her desires

“Do you know how beautiful you are?”

My husband asks me this question everyday (seriously he does – he is that amazing!) Some days I nod in agreement or answer, “Yes, yes I do.” But then there are those days where I just nod and smile because maybe I’m having an off day. I don’t think he expects me to actually answer the question, but it’s meant as more of a reminder of “Hey, you’re gorgeous and I’m a lucky man!”

Boudoir photography to me is beautiful. It’s a way to celebrate your own unique beauty. Sometimes I just shake my head in disbelief when my friends, family and even complete strangers mention things that they would like to change about themselves because I don’t see it that way. Usually the feature they want to change is the very thing that makes them unique – and to me unique is beautiful.

With the society and media of today being so fixated on perfection, it’s easy to lose sight at just how amazing you really are. I feel that every woman should not only know how beautiful they are, but have a gorgeous set of “knock-‘em-drop-dead-gorgeous” photos of themselves. Pulling from my own experience in front of the boudoir camera, I can tell you this: The amount of self-confidence I gained in those 60 minutes has stayed with me ever since and will for the rest of my life. It was the best gift I have ever given to myself (oh, and my husband).
